Meet our family, Living the Dream!
We're a family who've decided to become adventurers, led by our fearless Cavayorkie pup, Tootsie Pop (don't be fooled by the cute name; this little furball is braver than you think!). Work has taken us all over the globe for years, but we're now trading in our roller suitcases for softer bags and a new adventure – life on the open ocean!

Charles (Dad, the ever-steady captain at the helm) and Virginia (Mum, with a heart of gold but who might express a healthy dose of excitement, or perhaps mild panic, during a storm) are leading the charge. Together, they're raising Findlay (13, our resident tech whiz) and Tillie (10, the fearless explorer who loves animals and is always up for a challenge) as true citizens of the world.
We've recently ditched dry land for our brand-new NEEL 51 sailboat, aptly named "Living the Dream," and set sail on a worldwide odyssey! Our sights are set on the Caribbean for a festive Christmas, followed by joining the WorldArc rally in January 2025. Buckle up (or, should we say, batten down the hatches?) because we'll be trying to chronicle our journey every step of the way!

Keeping the Peace at Sea
Living on a boat is a dream come true, but it's not all smooth sailing (pun intended!). Charles loves being captain, but Virginia is fearless in mutiny if the boat gets too messy or internet connectivity suffers. To keep everyone happy, we're having to develop a "ship's schedule" that rotates chores, designates quiet reading time, and includes special movie nights with popcorn (air-popped, of course!). It's a work in progress!!
Life on the high seas
We are discovering the joys (and inevitable challenges) of living in a floating home, from boat maintenance to whipping up delicious meals in a compact galley. Virginia, a Cordon Bleu-trained chef and qualified naturopathic nutritional therapist, is excited to show everyone (especially Charles) how nutritious and delicious meals can be sourced from anywhere in the world, even on a boat!
Keeping Tillie and Findlay's education afloat is going to be a constant challenge, even with turtles (not the ninja kind), dolphins and whales as occasional classmates!​
